Poem of the Week

Angels

July 12, 2010

Across both street and sand
our soldiers march alone
nothing but the life long hope
to make the flight back home

It’s true we’re there in spirit
but they are stuck in combat
fighting so we stay free
never try to deny that

And next time you see the news
dont complain about the battle
remember why they do this
and stop the useless prattle

These men and woman risk everything
not short of their own life
doing everything in their power
to bring about the end of strife.

Our soldiers are all angels
hidden in human form
saving friend and stranger all alike
from the evil that does swarm

So now I beg of you
the next time you turn on your T.V
remember that these angels
fight for you and me.

Despite that freedom sometimes brings a dire price
they brave on to the fray
so please before you go to bed
take the time to pray.

Pray for the safety of our angels
pray with true concern
know them that we love them
and wish for their return.
