Poem of the Week

As Long As I'm Standing

September 13, 2010

As long as I’m standing
This war I will fight
My motives are clear
My goal is the light

The path may be blurry
The destination is true
Either alone or combined
I will make it through

I’ll arrive nonetheless
With an army or just one
When I get there
My duty won’t be done

There’s always one more journey
One more road to take
Another set of options
More choices to make

And if I choose right
And all goes my way
I’ll go on once more
To encounter another day

But if it’s my time
And I’m not to return
Then the answer everyone seeks
Is one I will learn
